Ikkaku - The Demon Hunter #1 Chapter 1 of 3

The sound of rain drops started to fill the night as the forest of Takafu invaded by the demons. Evil had consumed the villagers of the Takafu clan this night and the whole village was burnt as innocent lives were taken. This is the price of living in the world where demons rule freely and hence the Age of Demons had been for five hundred years. How did it begin? A dark past that no one wants to be reminded of and it remains a nightmare that still haunts them every single day.

"Save the women and children"

"Fight the demons, we must not let evil consume our families", one of the elders shouted to his people and they were all prepared to fight with all they can.

Holding simple sticks, knifes and farming equipments as weapons against the demons, it seemed they were in a disadvantage.

The demons are creatures of the night and they seek their prey when it's dark. Their greatest strength is to immerse from the shadows and swiftly attack its prey by surprise. Even from face to face combat, their size and brutal nature will quickly overwhelm any simpleton mortal. With claws and sharp talons, the demons has taken many preys tonight.

"Where is the gemstone?" One of the demons grabbed a villager who tried to attack him.

"Give it to me now and I will spare your pitiful life"

The hostage was too scared to even give a response. The demon slashed him away to wipe away the disgust of its weak prey.

And the night went on till every living villager is no longer. The demons do not wish to just steal or kill but they very often wants to exterminate everything they can devour.

Hours later and minutes before dawn.

"Monsters!! You will pay for what you had sin today" grabbing tightly on the neck of the demon, a giant warrior known as Baron tore the demon in to two.

The village looks empty and it seemed most of the demons had left.

"Looks like we are too late"

"The demons must have taken the gemstone too" a smaller size warrior compared to Baron hiding near the trees as he witness the village had burnt and tore down to rubbles.

The blood on the ground flowed on the forest grounds. Without a doubt thousands of people were killed that very night. The warriors came too late.

"No survivors" Baron spoke.

"That's how the demons operate. They came to take what they want and they will destroy everything including bystanders and innocents" the smaller warrior reveal himself from the shadows and lifted up his hood to reveal his face. A young man, fairly sharp looking with dark brown eyes, and his name is Ikkaku - the demon hunter.

"We better rush to the other villages"

And their night was not over yet.

This is my first posting on my imaginary characters and stories that played on my head. I always have been very imaginative and most of the time, I guess I was never bored. Incredible and amazing stories can just weaved together inside my head an play it out like a movie. Sometimes, I think it's even better than watching television or going to the cinema. Well, please do be mistaken that I am crazy but just take me as a person with a highly creative mind.

My first posting will be a manga/anime story about a young man call Ikkaku who is a demon hunter (isn't it obvious from the header). The story plot takes place in a world where the Gods and the underworld waged war against each other on the surface of the world and with the winner will rule the planet for a thousand years. That was the wager that was made among them and the end result was horrifying. Something unexpected happened and the Gods lost the war and hence the beginning of the Age of Demons.

Five hundred years later, sacred clans that were once protected by the Gods were hunted one by one and the demons were searching for a mystical amulet that holds a dark secret. When the great Ryabuki clan was exterminated, one managed to survived. A little girl by the name of Sakura seemed to be carrying the secret amulet that the demons are searching for.

Ikkaku was summoned by the Gods to protect her on all cost and deliver her to Olympus where the Gods are waiting. To do that, they need to travel across the long and dreadful Red River that separates the world now to seven pieces. Each of the pieces are ruled by one of the seven demon kings that will stop them with all their power. The adventure begins as they take sail on the Red River and fight against demons that crossed their path. As they got closer to Olympus, dark secrets and mysteries started to unveil to them, and Ikkaku realized that much bigger things were at play and more important things were at stake.

Cool Facts:

Ikkaku is a half human and half demon that has a skeleton hand that can be replaced with his right hand when summoned. His abilities is using his skeleton hand for super strength and in combat. Apart from that, he is also the guardian of the Sword of Hades, a sword that is cursed but extremely powerful and it can be used to destroy demons. Since the Sword of Hades is cursed, no mortal or demon can touch it for those who touch it will turn into ashes and perish. Only Ikkaku's skeleton hand has the power to wield the Sword of Hades.
